Try these simple hacks to make your iPhone feel like brand new

There are a number of easy ways to give your iPhone a much-needed declutter, leaving it feeling like new within minutes.

From cleaning up your home screen to binning the apps you don’t use, here are our tips on how to keep your mobile spick and span without spending a penny.

Delete unused apps

Having full iPhone storage can lead to a range of issues, including not being able to update your iOS and not having room for any more photos.

One solution to this is deleting apps you don’t need but are taking up a lot of space on your phone.

First, you’ll need to open Settings and then tap “General”. Once there, open the “iPhone Storage” section.

You’ll see a brief overview of what is taking up the most storage on your iPhone and how much room you’ve got left.

If you scroll down you’ll see a list of all your apps ordered by how much space they’re taking up.

Look for apps you don’t use and delete them to clear up space. Simply tap your app of choice and then hit “delete app”.

If that all seems a little dramatic, you can choose to “Offload” apps, instead.

This temporarily disables an app without deleting it and will give you a bit more storage space.

The app will remain on your home screen but you will have to tap and download it again when you want to start using it.

Hide apps and home screens you don’t use often

Thanks to a recent iOS update, you can now easily hide apps on your home screen without deleting them.

And if you’ve got loads of home screen pages then you can hide those too – while keeping their layout intact.

Hiding a home screen page is simple.

First, make sure any apps that you want to hide are stored on a home screen page you’re happy to hide too.

Then hold your finger down on the home screen until your app icons start wiggling.

Next, tap on the bubble with dots inside at the bottom of your screen – the one that shows which page you’re on.

This will bring you to a home screen view that lets you hide individual pages – by “unticking” them.

Once you’re finished, just click Done in the top right-hand corner.

The apps on your hidden pages remain stored in the App Library, which you can access by scrolling all the way to the right of your home screen.

At any time, you can unhide your hidden pages by repeating the steps above and ticking them.

Are you storing texts forever?

Your iPhone stores your texts forever. It’s great when if you need to check that text from over a year ago, but not if you need the memory space.

To sort this out, go to your Settings and then tap Messages.

Scroll down until you see Message History and tap Keep Messages.

You can change Forever to 30 Days or 1 Year.

You will be asked if you want to do this and, if so, tap Delete.

Clear your browser cache

If you use Safari, your iPhone could be storing web history and data.

To clear the browser cache, open the Settings app and tap on Safari.

Scroll down and hit Clear History and Website Data.
